WordWorkshop is a word ladder puzzle game developed by Dialogs (dialogsapps.ai). This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.
1. Information We Collect
WordWorkshop collects only what is necessary to provide the game experience and optional cloud sync:
Email address — collected only if you choose to create an account. Used solely for authentication via AWS Cognito.
Game progress — which puzzles you have solved, your best completion times, and your settings (theme, game mode, hard mode, auto-submit, daily reminder preference).
That is the complete list. WordWorkshop does not collect:
Your name, phone number, or physical address
Device identifiers, IP-based location, or hardware fingerprints
Browsing history or activity outside the app
Any data via cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs
2. How We Use Your Information
Authentication — your email is used to create and verify your account so you can sign in across devices.
Cloud sync — if you are signed in, your game progress and settings are synced to the cloud so they are available on any device where you sign in.
Daily reminder — if you opt in on a native (iOS/Android) device, a local notification is scheduled at 9:00 AM. This is handled entirely on-device and does not transmit data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising. We do not use your data for profiling or targeted advertising.
3. Data Storage
Your game data is stored in the following locations depending on how you use the app:
Web browser — localStorage in your browser. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted unless you sign in.
iOS — Capacitor Preferences (backed by UserDefaults). Stored on your device.
Android — Capacitor Preferences (backed by SharedPreferences). Stored on your device.
Cloud sync (optional) — if you create an account and sign in, your progress and settings are stored in AWS DynamoDB in the us-east-1 region.
4. Third-Party Services
WordWorkshop relies on the following third-party services:
AWS Cognito — handles account creation, login, and token management. Subject to the AWS Privacy Policy.
AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB — power the cloud sync feature. Your game data passes through these services when syncing.
Google Fonts — the Russo One and Inter typefaces are loaded from Google's servers. Google may log font requests. See the Google Privacy Policy.
No analytics services, advertising networks, or social media SDKs are used.
5. Children's Privacy
WordWorkshop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at bw@dialogs.com and we will promptly delete it.
6. Data Retention
Local data (localStorage, UserDefaults, SharedPreferences) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Cloud-synced data is retained in DynamoDB for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your cloud data will be removed.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time:
Use the app without an account — all core functionality works offline with no data transmitted.
Request a copy of your data — email us and we will provide the data associated with your account.
Request deletion of your data — email us and we will delete your account and all associated cloud data.
Clear local data — clear your browser's localStorage or uninstall the app to remove all on-device data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
